Steel and GRP platforms for substation access

Steel and GRP access, inspection and maintenance platforms for UK substations and electrical infrastructure — designed to BS EN ISO 14122, BS 4592 and BS 6180, integrated with the wider substation steelwork package.

GRP is specified where non-conductive, corrosion-proof access is required around live HV equipment; steel is selected for heavy loading and long spans. Hybrid assemblies combine both.

Safe access integrated

Stairs, ladders, gates and handrails are detailed alongside the platform — co-ordinated against the equipment frame and gantries above.

Finished for the environment

Hot-dip galvanising to BS EN ISO 1461 on steel, UV-stabilised resin systems on GRP — supplied under our BS EN 1090 EXC 3 and ISO 9001 system.
