From MIG, TIG and MMA welding across ferrous and non-ferrous materials through documented WPS control and ISOQAR-accredited WQMS — every joint is traceable to procedure, operator and project specification.
Phase 01
MIG, TIG and MMA welding
Manual MIG, TIG and MMA welding executed across an extensive range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials — mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and specialist alloys.
- Mild & stainless steel
- Aluminium & alloys
- Manual processes
- Ferrous & non-ferrous
Phase 02
Purpose-built fixtures and tables
Welding is undertaken on purpose-built welding tables and fixtures to maintain dimensional accuracy and repeatability — supporting consistent, specification-compliant output across long production runs.
- Dimensional accuracy
- Repeatable output
- Long-run consistency
- Specification compliant
Phase 03
Documented WPS library
An extensive library of Welding Procedure Specifications covers the majority of applications. Additional WPSs are qualified to project requirements via our in-house Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC).
- Extensive WPS coverage
- Project-specific qualification
- RWC managed
- BS EN ISO 15614 aligned
Phase 04
Welding Quality Management System
Welding operations are executed within our Welding Quality Management System (WQMS), independently accredited by ISOQAR and approved to BS EN 1090 EXC 3 — assuring UKCA marking on structural steelwork.
- ISOQAR accredited
- BS EN 1090 EXC 3
- UKCA assured
- Full weld traceability

Why weld with us
Coded welders backed by a documented WQMS
Welders are coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1 and operate under an ISOQAR-accredited Welding Quality Management System — documented WPS library, qualified procedures and weld inspection records that satisfy BS EN 1090 EXC 3 audits without exception.
Capability
Precision subcontract welding capacity
Extended welding capacity supports a complete subcontract precision fabrication service for principal contractors and OEM clients operating in sectors where weld integrity, tolerance control and audit documentation are critical.
Better Weld
In-house training centre and weld testing
Our Better Weld training centre is an EAL Accredited Training Centre delivering the full progression from introductory welding courses through to coded welder training and weld testing to BS EN ISO 9606.
Documented WPQRs and in-house test operators across all processes maintain workforce qualification at the standard required by BS EN 1090 EXC 3 and our principal-contractor client base.
Accreditation
Certified to BS EN 1090 EXC 3
Certified to BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 Execution Class 3 in accordance with BS EN 1090-2:2018 — covering Factory Production Control and UKCA marking of structural steelwork.

Welding
Coded welding for structural steel fabrication
Our welders are coded to BS EN 9606-1 for MIG, TIG and MMA processes across the carbon-steel grades used in everyday structural steel work — from S275 and S355 sections through to higher-grade plate for plant and substation steelwork.
Each weld is traceable to the welder who made it, the WPS it was made to, and the procedure qualification record behind that WPS. NDT — visual, MPI, dye-pen, UT — is carried out by an independent third party where the specification calls for it.
Workshop and on-site
Coded welders work both in our metal fabrication bays and on site for connections, modifications and tie-ins. The same procedures, the same paperwork.
Records that prove it
Weld maps, qualification records and inspection reports are issued alongside the CE / UKCA Declaration of Performance so the pack matches the steel, line for line.
FAQs
Coded welding,
specified with confidence.
How our BS EN 9606-1 coded welders, WPS library and ISOQAR-accredited WQMS underpin every weld we deliver.
- Coded welding means the welder has passed independent qualification testing to BS EN 9606-1 for a specific combination of process, material, position and joint type. Coded welders work to qualified Welding Procedure Specifications and are re-tested on a defined cycle.
